Nestled in the Umtamvuna Valley, with a view of the River and the Transkei, this incredible little Backpackers Lodge was built with an eye for the surreal. Inspired by the architects who are able to blend nature with modern comfort, this Gaudi-esque collection of thatched homes is as beautiful as it is unique.
A two minute drive from the Old Pont, and the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve, a five minute drive from the beach, and literally on the doorstep of the Red Desert Reserve, it has all the benefits of the surrounding nature and good access to amenities.
The laid back atmosphere really inspires relaxing moods and chilled out afternoons by the pool. Although the interior of the buildings are equally as ambient, each one as unique as it is comfortable and affordable. As long as your pets are friendly, ours are too, just enquire first. We look forward to meeting you.
The lodge is kitted out with two large self catering units, capable of sleeping 6 and 8 people each, and two smaller ensuite units.

"We loved our stay at the lodge. It was peaceful and quiet. We could even hear the birds chirping.
Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was enormous with boiling hot water which we appreciated as the weather was like 12 degrees.
The view was breathtaking.

The manager was kind helpful and friendly. She made us feel very welcome.
We will definitely go back in the near future. "
