Picardie Guest Farm
Paarl
Bed & Breakfast, Self Catering
(20
rooms)
Picardie permeates a rich heritage that irrevocably contributes to its current day charm. Nestled below the National Afrikaans language monument at the foot of the Paarl Mountains, there is more story than meets the eye. The first four farms in today’s Suider Paarl, have already been granted by Johannes Muller, Magistrate of Stellenbosch in 1689.
Picardie belonged to Isaac Taillefert, the father of Jean Taillefert, to whom Laborie was granted. La Concorde was granted to Gabrielle le Roux and Goede Hoop to Jean Cloudon. All these farms were 60 morg, stretching from the banks of the Bergriver as the Eastborder and Paarl Mountain as the West boarder.
Traditional Rooms: These large, spacious and cool rooms are ideal for short stays, guests in transit or wanting to escape the rush over the weekend. Self-catering Cottages: These little self-catering cottages are ideal for families needing a medium-term stay, for short holidays or long weekends. Lakeside Family & Single Rooms: Priding in 5 family suites and single rooms, the Lakeside accommodation is ideal for a larger group booking, wanting a little more privacy.
The Stoor-Hall: This venue is mainly used for wedding celebrations, but can also be utilized for larger dance parties, celebrations and gatherings. The Jetty: The Jetty walks out unto the dam and is the most romantic setting for tying the knot, overlooking the dam and the Klein Drakensberg. The “Bos”: The “Bos” is a magical setting for those couples wanting a “down-to-earth” ceremony hidden between granite rocks and olive trees. The Lakeside Deck and Veranda: If you dream of a picnic wedding, this is the setting for you.
