Shindzela is an authentic tented camp, situated in the Timbavati Reserve, greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. Enjoy an African wildlife walking safari or game drive, led by professional safari guides.
The camp accommodates a maximum of 16 guests and is unfenced, making it very much part of the wilderness.
Shindzela is not built by an award winning architect, nor is it furnished by an interior designer. What you will find though, is a comfy bed, freshly laundered linen, and decor from local crafters and artists. Shindzela is a comfortable/rustic tented bush camp, where you can relax, enjoy our warm hospitality and immerse yourself in the African wilderness. We love our informal, relaxed atmosphere. Each safari tent is built on wooden decks, and has their own en-suite bathroom (that is made from reeds/wood) with shower, (hot and cold water), flush toilet and hand basin. The camp also has a swimming pool and overlooks our little watering hole, from where you can watch animals come down to drink.
Our Safari Tents can either be made up in twin or double bed accommodation, set on wooden platforms. Each tent has a wooden entrance door, adjustable canvas flaps for windows, and mesh to keep insects out. Each tent has a thatch (grass) roof and small deck, designed to keep the tents cool in summer. Tents have solar lighting, and are equipped with all bedding, mosquito net, towels and a fan.
The general bush camp area encompasses of a covered (thatch/grass roof) safari style dining area & lounge, kitchen, staff accommodation and a central African fireplace - a perfect spot to relive safari experiences around the fire. Your African safari is hosted by a guide and tracker, and the camp is owner managed. We do operate a bar, where guests can ask their guide/tracker for a drink, all our non-alcoholic drinks are included in your nightly rate, and all alcoholic drinks can be settled in cash/credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) at the camp upon check out. We have deliberately decided to keep the camp undeveloped, so as to better blend in to the environment, and offer guests an undisturbed wilderness experience.
Shindzela Tented Camp offers both a walking trail & safari game drive experience in the Greater Kruger National Park.

*** We regret no children under the age of 10.
*** The balance of total safari fare is due 30 days prior to your arrival. Please make sure it is paid in time, as we reserve the right to cancel the reservation, should the full fare not be paid 30 days prior to travel.
*** If guests book and travel within 30 days, the full fare is payable at the time of making the reservation.
*** Rates exclude Vehicle and Conservation Levy.
