In Sutherland's main road you will find the "Old Style" Guest House of Juanita Hutchings called Kambro Kind.
Kambro Kind Guest House offers you 7 en-suite and on our farm Middelfontein we have three houses Fontein, Fonteintjie & Safraan. You can be assured of warm, Karoo hospitality and a diversity of many thanks to do.
Each room has selected DSTV with exception to Fontein who have a television in the lounge. Rooms have electrical blankets, warm water bottles, wall panels and a kettle with tea/coffee for the next morning.
Stargazing with Jurg is 1km outside of town (separate charge).
We have lovely walking trials on our farm Middelfontein 1.3 km outside town towards Caivinia ranging from 3 - 15km. A booklet can be collected at our office for the flower trail of about 46 different plant species. Keep an eye out for the Ribbok hare as well as the Ribboks, dassies, tortoises and other wildlife. You can also enjoy the trails with your mountain bike. For those pressed for time there is a spot created in town where you can see some of the different plant species available in this area. You can also enjoy a tour at the Dutch Reformed Church which was occupied by the English during the Anglo Boer War. Furthermore the NP van Wyk Louw Museum will give you the history of our famous two poets NP van Wyk Louw and his brother WEG Louw. Drive the scenic Ouberg Pass which links up to the R356 again (approximately 145km from Sutherland via Ouberg and back).
