A comfortable three and a half hour's drive from King Shaka International Airport, and on the doorstep of Southern Mozambique and Kosi Bay's decadent beaches, Tembe Elephant Park is renowned as one of the few remaining wilderness areas in Southern Africa.
Guests are accommodated in 14 comfortably furnished chalets:
The twelve Standard Chalets are single units, with 2 beds en-suite.
The two Family Chalets are double units with 4 beds, both en-suite. The chalets are orientated in such a way as to create cool shady interiors and covered verandas that provide respite from the African sun. Local materials and construction methods have been used to minimize the impact on the ecological processes of the environment.
All rooms are furnished with Twin or King size beds, as well as mosquito nets, fans and tea and coffee facilities to satisfy your longings. A desk and small lounge area is also provided and guests can relax on their private decks and enjoy the abundant surrounding bird life. The privacy of the units also invites guests to enjoy their delightful outdoor showers. There are also indoor shower facilities. The interiors are designed to offer guests uncluttered views of the forest, allowing nature into the chalets, for an intimate encounter with the landscape.
The eHlatini restaurant at Royal Thonga Lodge focuses on creating innovative and delicious meals by combining traditional European style cuisine infused with a local twist, and avails of a fully stocked wine cellar offering fine South African wines. Join us for an unforgettable experience.
