Facing the spectacular sandstone hill with the outcrop shaped as a camels head (giving it its name) is this tranquil farm with glorious views of the Maluti Mountains.
Camelroc is situated between the two Caledon Rivers and is close to Caledonspoort border post. Camelroc can definately be recommended as a good base from which to explore the Eastern Free State as well as Lesotho.
For those who prefer to stay at base and relax, one can opt to take walks into the mountain, have a swim in the pool and braai beside the cottage whilst enjoying the serenity and splendour of this Eastern Free State countryside. There are diverse activities to be enjoyed and places to discover in the area.
Bed and Breakfast Accommodation:
In the main homestead one can be accommodated in the guest house, three rooms sleeping 6 are all ensuite and tastefully decorated with Oregon pine furnishings. Meals can be arranged on request. Sandstone homestead with fireplace in lounge. DSTV in communal lounge. Bar facilities available. All bed and bath linen provided. Bed & breakfast. Dinner on request. Serviced daily. Tea and coffee facilities.
Self-Catering Accommodation:
All bed and bath linen supplied. Bring own charcoal for braai or buy at the farm. Fire places in cottages, heaters in bedrooms. Outside braai area. Garden table and chairs. Safe parking. Gas stove, fridge with freezer space. Cutlery and crockery, microwave oven, pots, pans, toaster, kettle, gas skottel-braai. Electricity and geyser for hot water. Serviced daily.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the use of the thatched entertainment area around the pool or play table tennis on the patio. There is a netball ring in the garden and ample space to play ball games and volley ball. The Guesthouse, built from traditional sandstone, has a fireplace in the lounge.
All the bedrooms have heaters and electric blankets for the cold winter nights. The perfect halfway stop between the Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. Come and enjoy this country stay with its beautiful views of the countryside, bird life, small game, rock art and the Poplar tree's turning in autumn.
