Ikaia River Lodge is a fisherman and nature lover's paradise, where you can relax on the banks of the Orange River, near Keimoes - the jewel of the Northern Cape.
The establishment is situated a comfortable 40km from Upington, on the main road between Keimoes and Cape Town. It is conveniently located close to the national route to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Augrabies Falls National Park, Riemvasmaak, Namaqualand, Upington, Namibia, Kenhardt, Johannesburg, and Bloemfontein.
The environment is arid, but due to irrigation from the Gariep River, the town is very green. Animals like Springbok, Giant King-fisher, Fish Eagle, Wild duck, Heron and a lot more can be seen here as well as fly-fishing and squash can also be done on-site. The area has many things to offer. Accommodation comprises of 13 units and river-bank camping sites. Ikaia also has an on-site Coffee Shop called the River Café, where you can enjoy an à la carte menu. Ikaia strives to make all their guests feel welcome and at home.
Accommodation comprises of ensuite units, self-catering chalets and camping sites. Each ensuite unit is equipped with a kitchenette and the self-catering units all are equipped with barbecue/braai facilities. All units are equipped with air-conditioners and are designed with style and elegance. Camping sites comprises of a few riverbank stands, which most are in the shade and each site has a power/electrical point. Ablutions close-by all equipped with showers and hot water.
Establishment facilities include: braai/barbecue facilities, swimming in the river, bird-watching, fishing and fly-fishing, site-seeing, walking, jogging, canoeing/kayaking, and squash.
Please note:
* Our check-in: 14h00, and check out: 10h00 on the day of departure. Please call us if you anticipate arriving after 17h00, otherwise you may have to wait a few minutes outside the guest house for the manager to come and check you in.
* The unit keys need to be returned to reception before you depart. Please arrange with reception for departure outside of office hours.
* Visitor Policy Resident guests may receive non-resident visitors until 22:00. No loud music or partying.
* Due to hygienic reasons and allergic reactions of other guests, pets are not allowed anywhere at iKaia River Lodge.
* Smoking for the comfort of our guests, iKaia River Lodge is a strictly non-smoking accommodation establishment except for certain demarcated outside guest areas.
* Valuables iKaia River Lodge or the owners do not accept any liability for loss of or damage to any valuables or property belonging to guests or their visitors.
