Situated in the heart of Johannesburg, Urban BackPackers is a gathering place for people from all corners of the globe wanting to experience a fair share of Joburg’s flair and still feel right at home. There are male, female and mixed dorms as well as comfortable private rooms with twin and double beds.
Some rooms have a seating area where you can relax. Every room comes with a shared bathroom. Balconies with City views, social spaces including a roof top chill area where one can unwind, mingle and dine. Looking forward to meeting you at Urban BackPackers.

The hostel also offers bike hire and car hire. Offering free fast Wi-Fi, 24/7 reception and security.
There are few restaurants, bars and not much of a social scene in Marshalltown. Staying here is principally due to business in town, and a sound one as you’re so central. The big plus factor is the experience of staying in the ‘real city’, as opposed to the glamorous northern suburbs, which are pretty sterile by comparison. And the glorious Nelson Mandela Bridge gives one quick access in and out of the city. Take time and tour through the City Of Gold with our exciting tour guides. Visit Soweto and historic sites within Johannesburg. Experience the African cuisine within the great African City.

Hostel Rules:
1. Valid photo identification in the form of a driver license or passport is required at check-in.
2. Customers are required to conduct themselves and that their guests conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner at the hostel and must not disturb other guests. Failure to adhere to this may result in guests being asked to leave the Hostel in which event all charges shall become immediately payable.
3. Smoking is not permitted within the Hostel. Guests may only smoke in designated smoking areas.
4. The customer will be responsible for any loss or damage caused at the Hostel by guests or visitor. The guest may be liable for reasonable cost of repairing, cleaning or replacing any property.
5. No animals are allowed in the hostel with the exception of guide dogs.
6. Urban Backpackers does not accept bookings made by those under the age of 16. Under 18's cannot stay in any shared rooms, however, they can stay in private rooms when accompanied by an adult over 18 years. If you're between 16-18 and want to stay in a private room, you'll need written consent from your parent or guardian.
7. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in automatic cancellation with no refund given.
