"Simon, the owner of Lekkerwijn went out of his way to ensure that our stay was informative, comfortable and happy. He is a most gracious host. The house and history are fascinating. Furniture, art work, and architecture all very interesting. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable with beautiful linen and a surprise hot water bottle popped in before bedtime! Very accommodating to kids and excellent, well priced babysitting available. Like entering a bygone era where life flows gracefully, personalized attention and attention to detail, tea trays by the fireplace are the norm not the exception!"

"This was simply the best place we stayed at during our 3 week vacation through South Africa. Very genuine country experience at an old family place.

Also, the people who run the guest house try everything to make yourself feel at home."

"Our family, including 3 kids (14,13,9) had a wonderful stay at Lekkerwijn in late June. Lekkerwijn's manager, Geoff could not have done more to make our 2 night stay at the house and in the area a complete success making some great recommendations.

Suzie greeted us with a big smile on day 1 offering afternoon tea (hot an strong!), then cooked an awesome breakfast in the main dining room each morning. The kids had fun exploring the grounds finding the stream, horses, pigs, cats, rabbits etc.

Lekkerwijn, is family owned for more than 100 years, is in a beautiful setting at Groot Drakenstein and is in the perfect location for anyone wishing to explore the cape wine country and gourmet capital of SA at Franschhoek. Highly recommended!"

Rooms are spacious & clean. Staff are friendly and give out good advice as in where to go & what to do. A lovely haven to stay.
