Nestled in the heart of the KwaZulu Natal Midlands, we offer accommodation with a touch of history. Our private dam and wetland area, is home to hundreds of beautiful bird species, wildlife such as Duiker, Reed buck, Bush buck, Serval, Rooikat, porcupine and wild pigs to name a few.

Five charming self catering dwellings exist on the farm; The Boat House, Crane Cottage, Otter Cottage, Rose Cottage and Heron Cottage. Guests need not leave the farm to enjoy Bass fishing, birding, boating or a picnic after a leisurely walk around beautiful Beacon Vlei. Other outdoor activities that can be arranged in the surrounding countryside include; mountain biking, horse riding, canopy tours, battlefield tours and even paragliding.

In-room facilities include tea and coffee facilities, fireplace, etc.

Establishment facilities include satellite TV and braai/barbecue.

***Small pets allowed for a fee of R100 per pet per night, one pet per cottage.

"We stayed at Beacon Vlei Guest Farm for the second time now. The first time was in the main house and this time in the Heron Cottage with our baby daughter.
The farm is beautiful with a view over the dam and expansive lawns and gardens. It is quiet and peaceful but centrally located in the Midlands which makes visiting most attractions very easy.
Heron Cottage is a spacious, rustic cottage with two in-suite bedrooms with king size beds and cosy linen. It has a well-equipped kitchen and fireplace inside which adds to the full-Midlands experience.
Very fairly priced, hospitable and comfortable accommodation. We reccommend it for any couple or family."
