The addition of the main bedroom is just beautiful and the view is breath taking, so much so that I never closed the curtains once! The views surround this beautiful lodge and you are left spoiled for choice.
A hike up to the rock pools is an absolute MUST! We spent the better half of Saturday their picnicking, swimming and exploring! My boys had an absolute blast! We had a "visit" from squirrels on both mornings which is something us city slickers don't get to see everyday.
Once again the friendliness and warm welcome from Giles never disappoints and the lodge was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. A real home-away-from-home experience.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end but it has already been decided that we will be visiting again but this time we will be booking into the Mountain Lodge and we cannot wait to go back!"

What excellent value for money. The hosts Giles and Mel are wonderful people; Be sure to buy a bottle (or 10 if you dread running out as we did) of Mel's homemade lemon cordial, it truly is the real deal.
Each one of the lodges on this farm is unique and in a different environment, so you can experience something different every time you go to one. They are also all secluded and private so you get the feeling of being in your own private lodge.

This will be a spot we will surely miss when moving overseas, but if we have the opportunity to visit South Africa, indeed this would be our in-land get-away.
We dared the hike to the rock pools. It was not so much of getting to the rock pools, but rather the peaceful, untouched walk there and back that was the highlight.

"Mamagalie, is the perfect getaway for two nights, simple, clean and meets every basic need. To just get yourself grounded and out of the city, it works like a charm! Beautiful views and clean air, nobody to disturb you, just you and your thoughts. The 3km hike was so worth it, and again, good for the soul. Took us out of our comfort zones, and put us back in nature, early nights, earning mornings, gorgeous sunset and sunrises, what we take for granted each day. Definitely, recommend and Giles the owner was such a honey! "

The Lodge was peaceful and beautifully presented, we felt great about the fact that Forrest Lodge ran on solar power and we could even be green on holiday. I have never walked so far! But it was great exploring the farm every day.
