The view over the bay from the verandah was beautiful and I could watch a small pod of whales in the bay early on Saturday morning. The room was small but neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There is minimal wardrobe hanging space and we were a tiny bit nervous about not having a cupboard in which we could put laptops out of sight. As it turned out, we had nothing to worry about in terms of security. Breakfast was laid out in a spacious and attractive room with a generous selection from continental style options to full SA fry-ups. The public rooms - the little bar, the varied seating next to the big windows overlooking the bay and an inviting reading room were all attractive. I really appreciated the roaring fire in the library on Saturday night which was a little chilly. All in all, a lovely old-fashioned, people-friendly space and charming staff."
