When we arrived, there was controversy about the rate that we paid, the receptionist complained that she had to wait for our money for another week, there was a problem with the quotation and the price that we paid. We booked for B&B as advertised and quoted by Safarinow but the receptionist claimed that breakfast was not included but that she would give us 'free' breakfast. NOT NICE AT ALL!
The room which was located to us, opened into the reception area, the only window also opened into the reception area! Again, not nice!
The next day we asked to move into our daughter's room after she left and it was wonderful. This room opens onto a veranda and beautiful garden area. All the rooms are beautiful, spotless and clean, lovely beds, mattresses, bedding etc. We had lovely breakfasts in a beautifully refurbished dining room and friendly staff. The two young men who took over at reception over the weekend can be commended.

There was always someone available to open the gates and the front door when we came back after 10pm. The patio/veranda of the pool area was also a sight seeing experience.

I want to thank the staff of Palm Lodge for the respect and privacy they rendered. Lastly just to appreciate them for allowing us that 1 hour extra amnesty of staying in the room after 10am.

When we arrive it would be nice if someone can walk us in and explain things and how the work, i.e. the heating system, the meals, etc. Instead we had to find out that stuff ourselves (2 days later, we noticed the green book).
Breakfast for R60 per person is also very expensive, especially when there is a Wimpy breakfast around the corner.

Otherwise, it was a nice stay; I like the fact that there are minimal interruptions from the staff. Rooms are personal, homely, cosy and accommodating. We had a good time.

We original booked only on our way to the Western Cape, but with our return there was a mess with the booking in Colesberg and Palm Lodge in Bloemfontein was able to assist in our hour of need with the same consistant services.
