"We went to Stanford Lake Lodge for our honeymoon and were privileged to stay in the Honeymoon Cabin.
We loved the freedom of being trusted on the property.
We enjoyed spotting some small game and even extremely privileged to have spotted a Long-crested Eagle (Lophaetus Occipitalis) [according to Kruger National Park's website there is only an estimated 200 pairs in the entire North-Eastern South Africa] - we spotted it up close, I unfortunately didn't have my camera or phone handy!
We visited the waterfall and enjoyed the peace and quiet on the farm.
The cabin was neat and clean, we had a comfortable stay (including the bed). The bathroom with the view is exquisite.
The fireplace warmed the cabin up nicely while providing a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
There are absolutely no complaints from us.

"Clean comfortable accommodation. Everything we needed. Did want a wood cabin as they are beautiful but we only wanted 1bedroom and they are big. Had lively walk in forest-very well good signage for walks.Would suggest they print maps of walks and put in rooms."

We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evenings viewing the lake and forests. The Forest walk was too far for us pensioners but the distance we did explore was lovely. Situation was ideal for sight-seeing in the area and we comfortably did Debengeni Falls, Baobab Tree, Cycad Forest and the Nougat Factory at The Coach House in one day despite poor condition of roads near the Baobab tree and Cycad Forest. Haernertzberg is a very quaint village and worth a visit."
