"We stayed in the main cottage, it was comfortable and well appointed. The shade of the gums on the one side was very welcome on a hot afternoon. Walking in the hills and swimming in the pools in the river is highly recommended. "

Lupela was registered in our GPS so we had no problem finding it, though we would recommend arriving in daylight. Not that it is that difficult to find but because you don't want to miss the opportunity of experiencing the scenery and the peace & tranquillity of the place. If you are a bird-watcher, you will find a wide variety of species here, thanks to the varied topography.
Lupela is really good value for money, and a convenient day's drive away if you are heading down from Durban/Pietermaritzburg towards the Cape. You also avoid the N2 log-jam around Mthatha during high season.
We had a car problem and our hosts really went out of the way to help make sure we got back on the road safely. Special thanks to the Rosses for this.
