"My family and I enjoyed four nights at Bamboo and loved it! The rooms were unique, artistic and clean. The owners were so on top of their game that I was almost expecting an extra service fee upon checkout (which did not happen).

The best part though, was how incredibly friendly every employee was from the minute we checked in, to the cleaning staff, waiters, cook and, again, the owners. Even the night security staff were clearly part of the team.

We will definitely try Bamboo before looking elsewhere for our next stay in Knysna. "

"Delightful"

"A truly delightful guesthouse set within a 'jungle' garden and decorated with lots of pieces of art. Walls to our bedroom were a bit thin though as we could hear the TV next door, however, the owner was able to rectify the problem for us."

The wine certainly went down well! It just had a lovely atmosphere and she was always ready to offer assistance when required. The breakfast room in the garden is quaint and a good selection of food for breakfast. I was concerned about being away from the Waterfront but in fact I think this was better. Highly recommended."

"What a wonderful surprise Bamboo, the guesthouse is! Not only is it conveniently situated in a quiet residential suburb but the staff are awesome. Sarah greeted us as we arrived and showed us to our cute stylish Boma cottage next to the pool (sadly it poured with rain the night we stayed so we didn't swim, but the sound of pouring rain on the tin roof made up for that). It also has a little private deck outside. The boma has two showers and is fully kitted out with a fridge, electric stove top, cutlery, crockery, complimentary tea/coffee station. There is a fire place for super cold times. Then we went to the main house for Pizza night and some delicious chicken curry (and a complimentary drink). Granny Bamboo stopped by for a chat with her bubbly. Jay and Callie also popped by on their rounds. Breakfast the next morning was yummy-they home make the best muesli, with fruit and yoghurt and honey. Followed by a hot breakfast option. Thank you Bamboo, the guesthouse. A great stay."

The cottages (lodges) are just FANTASTIC! It’s so relaxing and it’s a perfect base for checking out the local area. We could not recommend this high enough - except to say the next time we come we won’t even look for anything else - we will go straight to booking here!

Attention to detail; decor, art, great coffee and pancakes amongst everything makes it a great venue. The hosts create great hospitality; nothing too much trouble, the boat trips were a highlight, as was their help in finding my new home in Knysna. My relatives and friends will definitely be staying there in the future."

Jaynie is the perfect hostess - we arrived after a long drive from Cape Town and she took great care of us, booking a table at a local restaurant and recommending sun-downers by the sea. Just what we needed! I would highly recommend this guest house, its quiet, intimate, has a pool and braai area and generally has everything you need for a short stay in Knysna. It’s worth noting they don’t take Credit/Debit cards so you have to pay in cash or EFT - not a major drama though."

"We stayed at the Bamboo Guesthouse for 3 nights and we could not have been happier with the accommodation. From the moment we arrived Jaynie and Gordon made us feel very welcome by getting us a welcome drink and helping us with our bags. The rooms are gorgeous and finished to a high standard with beautiful bed linen. The gardens in which all the rooms are situated are just stunning, you really feel relaxed, especially if you get a chance to sit in the garden swing. The breakfasts are excellent, Gordon will prepare you anything you want - you certainly will not go hungry! Most importantly all the staff were very friendly and were very happy to help with anything you need. We will definitely be going back sometime soon."
