Its well situated in the mountain area - valley of thousand hills - beautiful relaxing place. Although it was raining on Saturday, we were able to relax indoors. My wife enjoyed her birthday at the Acacia Chalet. Its indeed a lovely, relaxing, comfortable and most important affordable. There are plenty of entertainment, spaza shop and licensed restaurant. "We really enjoyed our stay! The views of 1000 Hills from the Acacia Tree Cottage was superb! The swimming pool was a hit with our son, as was the croc/reptile tour. Our tour host was very well informed and gave us a lot of interesting information about crocodiles and snakes.

In terms of the self-catering cottage, for a group of four, this really was the best self-catering cottage with the best view. The rooms are well-appointed, with a HUGE king-size bed in one room. Very nice to have a bathroom for each of the two bedrooms. Kitchen was clean and well-equipped.

The staff was friendly and accommodating.

I did bring this to their attention of which they were very apologetic and offered to make us a cuppa when we handed the keys in. I think R600 for the night was a bit overpriced compared to other places we have stayed in for the same price. They should open the place up prior to visitors arriving to get rid of the 'stuffy' smell. Overall pleasant."

The lodge is very clean and surrounded by very green trees and mountains, it is a sight to look at. The chalets we clean and cosy for the family, however, it would have been nice to have cleaning utensils such as mops and brooms as these were self catering.
