Gecko Rock Private Nature Reserve is nestled in the Nougaspoort Valley, just 25 km from Touwsrivier, and offers visitors an eco-adventure destination.

Our mission at Gecko Rock is to offer our visitors an unparalleled outdoor experience in the South African Karoo - one of the most unique natural areas on earth.

The scope of activities on offer at this special place, where the emphasis is on preservation of the environment, is sure to hold an attraction for everyone.

The list of options includes:
* Camping.
* Hiking.
* Guided 4x4 and 4x2 routes as well as driver training.
* Rock climbing.
* Mountain biking.
* Customised team building events and conference facilities.
* Flower and succulent tours.
* Bird watching.
* Star gazing.
* Or, simply relaxing in an unhurried retreat far away from cell phones and city stress.

Please note:
* Refundable breakage deposit is required.
* A minimum stay over weekends and linked to public holidays is applicable.
* No pets allowed on the reserve unless specifically agreed beforehand.
* A cleaning service for the Rheboksvlakte Cottage is available at an additional cost.
* Check-in time: 14h00. Check-out time: 11h00. Over weekends there is no check out time.

Please be aware that Gecko Rock is a rural venue. The public gravel roads are not suitable for low slung cars with low profile tyres - such as Mercedes Benz ‘C’ class and BMW 3, 5 and 7 series. We regularly have visitors in Toyota Tazz, VW Golf, Chevy Spark, Hyundai I10 and similar. Any saloon car that is overloaded will scrape on our roads.

"We stayed at Echo Camp for a long weekend and returned home relaxed and recharged. The simple amenities were clean and well maintained we were able to do some hikes between relaxing braais. The camp is located in its own valley and is peaceful and quite. Definitely coming back as soon as we can."

"We spent 3 days at Rheboksvlakte Cottage. If you want peace, quiet and solitude with a spectacular view over the Karoo, then this is the place for you. Beautiful sunsets, but surprisingly windy. Bicycle tracks, hiking paths and 4x2 off road trails to keep one busy. We will be back!"

"I spent the weekend at Gecko Rock this past weekend. The experience was very pleasant. I am a typical city slicker, with a little bit of naturist in me. I liked that we were so secluded in our cabin and we had the time and opportunity to spend the quality time we needed, and which was the reason we booked this weekend getaway. I was very impressed by how the cabins were kitted out. The reserve is very self-sustaining, it's impressive. It was a fun experience having the gas heated geyser, gas stove and gas refrigerator. Everything about the reserve was very nice, and we had an enjoyable stay.
Thank you for the hospitality and the friendly care we received from the whole team during our stay. We will definitely tell our friends and family, and hope to send more people to your establishment."
