Chris and Pat were perfect hosts - giving us our space when we wanted it, and being warm and welcoming when we wanted to engage.

It is self catering but there are plenty of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner so you never really need to open kitchen cupboards if you don't want to. However, it has everything you need for meal making, too. Just buy your wine ahead of time, as Camps Bay seems not to have a bottle store.

We would be very happy to be able to come back here one day in the future.

It is also a 5 minute walk up the road to the best steak restaurant we have ever eaten at - The Hussar Grill - you must also try the beef ribs as well, they are divine! The owners of the cottage, Chris and Pat, are such lovely people, so friendly, kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend The Patch for a relaxing holiday and also as a good base for all the tourist attractions as the buses run from the beach area. We will definitely be going back! "

Nothing was too much trouble. A small pretty garden with a good sized pool provided us with relief from the sun. We loved watching the Table Mountain cable cars in the background and walking down to the beach. This was a little bit of heaven for seven days. We shall return one day and stay for longer. The unit itself, was well equipped and the hosts generously provided us with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice and a lovely bottle of wine during our stay.

A lovely clean and inviting pool sits directly in front of The Patch in a neat garden. Even though the unit is on the same stand as the main house, it is towards the back, with it's own entrance and therefore gives a feeling of privacy. Having a seperate lounge area, with TV and Hifi and also it's own kitchenette with everything that's needed, made The Patch very good value for money compared to similar priced B&B's we stayed in during the trip.

The hosts were very friendly, helpful and attentive to one's needs, without being intrusive to one's privacy at all. A really nice place to stay at, with sufficient space, really pleasantly equipped, with partly sea views. Highly reccommended. I will stay there again in future."
