"we had 5 wonderful days at the Dam Cottage at The Farside Farm. We found the cottage to be so much more than we expected and was well equipped and comfortable. We loved the quietness of its location and the stunning views. The cows were a wonderful addition - coming and eating the grass in front of our patio each evening. The cottage was perfect and beautifully decorated - did not want to leave! Wonderful staff too. The only down side was that the main bedroom had a double bed and my husband and I found it a little small - but that is really our problem, not the venues!! Will definitely go back. oh, also very central to meandering!!"

Location was perfect for us, close to highway but quiet and peaceful. Dominique was very friendly and helpful - we would really recommend this B&B to friends."

"What a beautiful place! We stayed at the Farmside Farm for one night on our way to the South Coast. We stayed in the Dam self-catering cottage.

It is a beautiful place, well equipped and looked after, and we will most definitely visit again. "

"We had a wonderful stay at The Farside Farm's self-catering cottage; the only problem was that we weren't there for long enough! So quiet, tranquil and idyllic with beautiful views and friendly cows. It feels like you have the place all to yourself. Thank you Graham for a wonderful stay."

"We enjoyed a wonderful three night stay at The Farsidefarm. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and as animal lovers we had a great time interacting with the pets on the farm.
The accommodation is stunning; everything is clean and every room is beautifully furnished. Even though it was mid-June and rather cold, we were delighted to find that the beds had electric blankets and the lounge a roaring fire, which kept us cosy and warm throughout our stay.
We highly recommend this establishment; it is well located within the Midland Meander. It is relaxing, scenic, and surpassed all of our expectations.

"I chose Farside Farm as a base from which my parents could experience South Africa’s magical Midlands and I could not have chosen a better place!
All our expectations were met. The rooms were tastefully decorated with wonderful antique furniture and equipped with the softest linen and towels one can imagine. The gardens were lush and beautiful flowers could be seen everywhere.

Every morning the breakfast table was set out in a new colour scheme with different ornaments and flowers. The breakfast was divine.

My parents had such a lovely time and left the Midlands with great memories. The staff allowed my parents to experience South African hospitality in its brightest colours and on a personal note I believe my parents finally understood why I picked this country as my home of choice!

"We were absolutely delighted with FarSide. Its brand spanking new and very modern, yet built with 150 year old stone, old wooden windows, and knotty pine flooring throughout. The fittings, decor, bathrooms, and even bedding are all 5* - as good as the best inner-city hotel. Water pressure was a pleasant surprise (one expects awful showers out in these remote areas).
Glenda and Graham are very pleasant hosts for those staying in the Manor, and the Dam Cottage (a wordplay I'm sure they thought through) looks like a great retreat (we didn't visit it ourselves, though I'm confident the finishing will be identical to the Manor/house). FarSide is indeed a hat-tip to Gary Larson, and the FarSide Gallery is a (soon-to-be themed) conference/banquet facility that looks like it'll be wonderful for weddings.
The location is most convenient for the Midlands; a back road to Nottingham road, and literally right next to the highway onramp for other towns. Around 2km of dirt road to get to the gate - nothing I'd be unhappy about driving a sports Merc over - but not a Ferrari.
Get in whilst it's still unknown and such amazing value for money!
