"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Misty Waves in the delightful cottages overlooking the ocean. Perfect for a family as we had the kids in one cottage and the door interconnecting to the other cottage. Loads of olde worlde charm! We were there for Christmas day and the staff went to the bother of making a celebration tent with crackers, champagne etc. Shame the meal wasn't turkey however as it wasn't very festive!"

"I booked online for an Annex room which was easy to do with no hassles.

My wife and I arrived in the most atrocious conditions, howling wind & driving rain, and much to our delight we were put in the main hotel wing at no extra charge, and saved us from getting very wet.

The check-in was friendly & efficient.

With the wind still howling and enormous waves, there was a knock on our door at around 18:00, and there was a waiter delivering soup. On being told that we had not ordered any, the reply was "management thought you may enjoy the soup as it was so miserable and cold outside". What a nice touch!

Needless to say we ate in the Hotel, and had a most enjoyable meal and very interesting discussion with one of the owner’s sons Dillon. What a character he is! A great advert for the hotel.

Breakfast was brilliant with a huge variety of food available from a buffet.

We did the touristy thing on Sunday: Napier, Bredarsdorp, Arniston Hotel for lunch, Birkenhead Bewery and Wine estate and back for a rest!

We stayed for the two nights booked and would have stayed longer if we had not had another booking in Bantry Bay.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and efficient, and we will definitely stay at Misty Waves again, a great Boutique Hotel.

"Only stayed for one night to break up a long drive. Found the hotel to be very welcoming and our family room very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner (Fabio's). Kids loved the swimming pool and we enjoyed the view from the restaurant over breakfast. Short walk to the town centre. Decor a little dated perhaps, but definitely would not stop us returning. Sorry we could only stay the one night - we will be back, hopefully when the whales are in the bay. "

"Misty Waves has the potential to be an absolutely first-rate experience, yet it doesn't quite get there. So much of it was excellent - a really genuine welcome, early access to our (stunning) room, lovely service from people who actually smiled and really seemed to want to please. So much of it was excellent - a really genuine welcome, early access to our (stunning) room, lovely service from people who actually smiled and really seemed to want to please. And yet and yet...
"The business centre", entry to which we were charged 50 Rand, ought in a top-class hotel to be more than a computer minus printer in a stuffy little room. Nor ought it to have taken us over an hour to log on and print off two boarding cards. Incidentally this was the only hotel we stayed in that did not have free and readily available internet access.
Additionally, breakfast didn't quite hit the spot either. A lovely view, admittedly, but service does need to be less erratic and hot meals freshly cooked if you're going to deliver a five-star experience.
Apologies for the carping tone, but I did feel your many high spots were spoiled just a bit."

The rooms were more than comfortable with loads of room. We felt pampered, having our beds turned back every night. We also received a welcome chocolate fondue on arrival. We ate in the hotel one night and had an excellent meal and the breakfasts were also good. The hotel is well furnished and very comfortable. I think it has recently been refurbished because everything looks new. Overall we had a very pleasant stay."

The bed we were given had 2 single beds that were made up as single beds and not pushed together. We requested in the afternoon when we arrived for this to be corrected and was not, we had to beg again later the evening after we had supper for the bed to be made up. We did not arrive as other Guests in Vehicles, but a Motorcycle, we were asked to move the motorcycle because there were guests that needed the parking, rather odd so did we.

A little cold and not particularly friendly."

"A warm welocme - we loved the 'goody' tray. A lovely spacious room with a great sea view just a few steps from the beach. The delightful restaurant with fabulous food provides a good end to the day in this lovely resort. We hope to return one day at the right time for the whales."

"Our Stay at the Misty Hotel was a nice haven after having traveled through cold and rainy weather and arriving to a warm fire place in the reception area was a nice welcome. The reception and service was nothing but spectacular with staff always having been courteous and friendly. The food was to say the least divine and Major, who seemed to be always around, had some good suggestions which I generally followed ensuring that I had a good stay.

The Misty Hotel definitely deserves its reputation and I can wholeheartedly endorse their 4 star rating.

"We only had the pleasure for a very short stay passing through Hermanus as part of our honeymoon road trip. On arrival we were received warmly and felt truly welcome.

The rooms are exquisitely decorated, both spectacular and homely at the same time. The restaurant is intimate and the food delectable, and then there is the views which are simply breathtaking.

The meticulous trouble the staff went through to ensure our stay was comfortable was greatly appreciated. They went beyond expectation providing us with complementary champaign, chocolate fondue and a myriad of small things that truly made this stop the highlight of our honeymoon.

We look forward to the next time we can stay over in this truly spectacular facility, with the views to match and truly superb staff that make you feel like royalty. This was a truly memorable stay."

Thank you"
