Bukela Game Lode is not simply a luxury 5-star lodge, it's a safari experience like no other. Our thatched suites and luxury safari tents are each individually styled in African simplicity while never compromising on quality and luxury.

Our intimate 14 bedroom lodge offers an exclusive game viewing experience which, combined with our luxurious, secluded accommodation, and variety of dining options, creates a remarkable, private retreat in which to regenerate body and mind. Bukela's rates are inclusive of accommodation, all meals, selected beverages and two game drives per night. A Conservation Levy is now deemed essential to assist in the significant costs associated with our multi-layered anti-poaching measures on Amakhala Game Reserve. The following levy will apply for reservations made from 1 March 2018 and with a check-in date from 1 April 2018: All visitors per person per night. Children under 12 years per person per night. The Levy will be charged to the guest’s overall bill and paid at check-out. We thank you for your help in supporting this initiative.

Each suite and tent is well appointed for our guests' optimal comfort with every amenity including large, ensuite bathrooms, each with a deep-soaking tub overlooking the African bush, an indoor and outdoor shower for the more adventurous, a private wooden deck, bar fridge and facilities for making hot drinks. Our lodges have a central fireplace for romantic evenings too. Beds are king size or 2 singles depending on guest requirements. All suites and tents are air-conditioned while bar fridges and automatic kettles are an added convenience.

Some of the additional services we have on-site include: laundry facilities, a fireplace in the main lobby, a bar in the dining area, braai/barbecue for dinner under the African stars, spa and a swimming pool to cool down in-between game drives. Airport shuttle can be arranged at an additional cost.

We regret no children under the age of 12.

"We have really enjoyed our (short) stay at Bukela Lodge --a wonderful place where Elza Truter and her staff make all efforts to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The rather small structure, run on a family basis, is ideal and quickly puts its guests in a real proximity with the staff and the remarkable environment. The place is indeed absolutely stunning and splendid. Both rangers and cooks did all they could to allow us to appreciate the game park and the food. For us, these two days were as close as possible to what may be imagined in terms of perfection, professionalism and human generosity. So, please extend our warm congratulations to all for making this South African dream a real experience!"
