"Having driven from Knysna and arrived considerably earlier than the normal check-in time, Phil very kindly welcomed us and allowed us to choose our room and 'move in' before we had to head off to the Cango Caves. The Gumtree Guest House is set in beautiful grounds with good facilities. Our room was spacious with all the amenities we could wish for and was the closest to communal bar area - a huge plus! Our hosts, Phil and Linda, were excellent, from their recommendations of restaurants to activities in the surrounding areas - especially when our initial plans didn't work out. Furthermore, on our journey from Oudtshoorn to Stellenbosch, Phil even sent a text to warn us of a road closure and an alternative route.

We had a brilliant time in Oudtshoorn and would definitely recommend The Gumtree Guest House - we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on our next visit to Oudtshoorn."
