By the time we left a week later, I couldn't remember why I would have wanted to cook anyway. We had a few braai's (basically on the beach, but without the sand -TOTAL comfort). We hardly wore much because all we actually needed was a couple of costumes. So in reality, next time we can pack 1 small bag instead of 2 suitcases, in which case the cupboard is huge!

Haus am Strand is definitely a place to visit and revisit and revisit... Our whole family relaxed and we have come home ready to conquer anything - even the upcoming elections!

Mike, the man taking care of us was very helpful in the inconvenience we experienced and after that there were no problems. The beach is beautiful and right across the street from the home is the "center" of Wilderness with restaurants and shops etc...

On arrival the reception was so friendly and warm we got Champaign and all, but this was not the end of the warm welcome we were told about all the tourist stuff we could do and all the restaurants in the area (2 min walk from were we were)

We got settled and the beds had the best sheets and spacious rooms and the view was spectacular, when I read "you can't get any closer to the beach" my first thought was yah right they all say that. I was wrong because you CAN'T get any closer to the beach and the waves on high tide come almost to the gardens end.

It was truly amazing and breath taking at the same time and so quite and peaceful the beach is not crowded you can actually lay on the beach in peace with no-one around.

What came to mind was how can the rating only be 3 stars if this was like staying in a 5 star self catering unit?

I would and have already told all my friends and showed them photo's of the place and would truly recommend this for a romantic get away and just for stay over as this is also available at Haus am Strand.

I would like to say thank you to Rita she was the best host we ever had and to lively and honest and sweet and kind and accommodating, yah I know I can go on and on but this was the highlight of our holiday. We liked it so much we are going back later this year."
