"This was a perfect setup for our family of 6 which could be improved with a bit more attention to detail - first impression of being led through the garage after passing a pile of rubbish off to the side of the driveway was not great. Our 3 year old used the mattress under the one bed which had no linen - found a pillow with a dirty old pillowcase in the one cupboard. A pity it is so close to the road as the trucks drive past all night. We will be back.

Establishments response:

Dear Mr Gill and family I am so sorry about the three year old sleeping on that mattress. I was not aware of six people sleeping over. We usually make up the sleeper couch in the lounge. Paul was not supposed to take you through the garage. I cannot control the traffic on the N6. If you enter in Genl Hertzog street, no garden dump !"

"We enjoyed our stay at Bloekomhuis although the security was a bit of a bind to work through every time we left the place. Still, we understand it is required and it was good to know it was there."

"Beautiful accommodation in the lovely little Free State town of Smithfield. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard, with secure parking for the car, lots of good entertainment space and very warm, comfortable beds.
We will definitely be returning to stay at Bloekomhuis on our next trip to East London to visit Family.
Thank you
