"Great experience"

"Basic but comfortable rooms. Great safari experience, particularly being able to touch and hold lion cubs and to see a baby hippo."

"Tranquility"

"I got the exact same experience as I saw online be it the weather at night had it's own ideas. I was helped even thought the room I asked for lacked some minor detail but I will go back! Friendly staff all around."

"I recently stayed at the Riverside Lodge at Mpongo Park - it was just stunning!! The accommodation is a 5 star luxury retreat, allowing you calmness, relaxation and to be close to nature while still ensuring that you have the luxury of all modern conveniences. Every requirement is provided by the general manager, Henry and his team on site.

The room furnishings were beautifully done in a heavy colonial style with African overtones, as is the central lounge area which has tea and coffee available whenever you want but also a bar and food area on request. The swimming pool and sun deck area is beautifully done and is ideal for outside lunch parties.

The main lodge restaurant, where breakfast and dinner are served, is also of typical African feel. The dining room faces onto a pool filled with bird life and hippos...allowing you a personal view of these fascinating animals, as they remain in their wild environment, while you are eating your sumptuous meals, carefully waited on by the banqueting manager Lisa, and her team.

The game drive was especially well done; it is not just the animals but also the African flora which is fascinating and the ranger Mark, was extremely interesting and knowledgeable about the country-side that we were driving through. I was lucky enough to see most of the animals that the property has to offer and recommend that visitors take an early morning drive to be sure that they see as much as possible before the day gets hot and the animals hide!

Overall, this was a really special treat of a visit and I heartily recommend this venue to anyone wanting a luxurious look at the Africa wildlife and countryside!
