1) Under-carpet heating (it gets in the minuses in winter - I didn't think I'd need it, but glad I opted for it - we slept so well we over-slept!)
2) The use of the kitchen, dining area and implements if we wanted to do our own meals (with the option of breakfast - we had a long way to go, so didn't take this, but I'm sure it would have been good);
3) Lovely stoep area with plenty seating - we didn't have the time to use it, but I'm sure it will be great for those who come in summer and spend a bit more time in Oudtshoorn to see the sights.

Lastly, Edy and Denny were charming hosts, as was Rena at reception when we arrived. Always an added bonus.

If these are important to you:
* No TVs in the rooms - not important for us (we don't go on holiday to spend all our time in front of the box), but there was a common sitting area with a TV where we did end up watching the Wimbledon finals with other friendly guests and Edy and Denny - very relaxed and actually much more fun!
* It's in town, so no views and vistas from your room - but that's what you get when you're out and about and exploring the area - and what a magnificent part of the world it is. Mountains, mountains and mountains as far as the eye can see. I don't know why I ever wasted all those previous trips on the N1 and N2!
