"One of the best stays ever at any establishment, amazing breakfasts. Sue is an excellent hostess!"

"This was the best B & B of our trip. We would recommend anyone we know to stay there for as long as possible!"

"Farm style..."

You are pretty much left on your own, except for breakfast, which is very good (and a lot). Sue always had a home made specialty bread included with all the other usual stuff served buffet style (except of course the made to order egg dish). We were very comfortable, and it was only a short drive to the downtown area and golf courses and restaurants. You do get the country feeling, and the bird life is plentiful and enjoyable to watch. Kayak paddles are used with the canoes--and you do have to battle thru some lily pads, etc. in some stretches. The pool was bigger than most although we did not have time to use it. "

"This is the best accommodation we had in South Africa, the breakfasts were excellent everthing you could possibly want you could have, fresh baked scones & pancakes to die for. With the river right there & with canoes to use plus the walks & Braai on your own front porch no need to go out in your car. The underfloor heating works very well. Any local information needed was provided by our hosts & eating out was a pleasure so was the exploring. Would make a point of returning on any future visit to South Africa."

"Tranquil"

(United Kingdom) Mr Kingsley

"Wonderful relaxing location; a must for bird watchers. Access to the river in the canoes is also a must as there's no current so is easy for all. It's so peaceful I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it properly but I was on a mission! Thanks to Sue the very hospitable owner."

"Beloved and I agreed that we needed a weekend away. Four days before said weekend I sprung into life, being the well organized gentleman, and searched for a place to stay.
A young couple like ourselves wear our belts rather tight these days, so when perusing the Rooms for Africa website I was surprised to see a four star lodge within our budget.
Bitou River Lodge was the most fantastic place for a getaway. Perched alongside the Bitou River, the scenery that greeted us was simply stunning! The rooms are spacious and, more importantly, cosy! Underfloor heating, kitchenette, full bathroom, tv and reading nook as well as a private patio.... with braai facilities.
Our hostess, Sue, prepared the most scrumptious continental breakfasts which were enjoyed together with other guests in the guest lounge and dining area, complete with fireplace.
Bird watchers will be thrilled at the abundance of species, and the Lodge itself is only 5 minutes from Plettenburg bay. The river is navigable and canoes are freely available to guests.
Thanks to Sue for a most memorable stay, and thanks to Rooms for Africa for their fast and friendly service!
