This time we've taken two befriended couples from Holland to get to know this lovely country and of course we couldn't leave the Rosenhof out of the arrangement.
It happened to be the most relaxing stay on our trip, in fact during our one night stay, nobody wanted to see the Oudtshoorn sights! They all wanted to stay at the hotel, which definitely says something about the accommodation.
Rooms (2 doubles, 1 suite) were outstanding, all thinkable facilities on sight, perfect bathrooms, beds etc.
5 Course dinner superb and very well served, breakfast couldn't be better; salmon, champagne etc. all there, wish we could have spend more time on it, however pressed for time we had to cut it short unfortunately.
I'm writing this on behalf of everybody on our trip to say they enjoyed The Rosenhof as one of the better overnight stays as part of the Garden Route/Karoo trip.

The rooms are immense and superbly appointed, the bathrooms are excellently equipped, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The pool is a very welcome escape from the summer heat and is very inviting.
The restaurant is also of a very high standard, with genuine haute cuisine and a very good wine list.
The hotel is very well located for all of the local sites, including, of course, the impressive Cango Caves, the ostrich farms, the exciting Schwartsberg Pass and Meringspoort, and the nearby port producing wineries.
All of this, of course, does not come cheap! The Rosenhof is very expensive, especially if you are used to Spanish hotel rates. Everything is charged per person, not per room, so be prepared to need deep pockets if you stay here. However, you will certainly not be disappointed with a stay here."
