We had asked the Chef, Marie, whether we could keep our dairy products in her fridge because we were on a LCHF diet - no problem. Blow me down if she doesn't go out of her way to provide us with one of the tastiest Banting-friendly suppers we have ever been served, without our asking for it! Would go back if only for her culinary skills. Pity we could not have a hot shower due to the lack of water pressure."

"Walkerbouts is the ideal country inn. The bedrooms are large and comfortably furnished in an old fashioned, homely style. There is plenty of heating (including electric blankets) for the cold weather. The lounge and dining room are full of interesting memorabilia and there is a good selection of books on the local flora. The food - breakfast and dinner - was excellent. It was good homestyle cooking well prepared and nicely served. Marie went out of her way to see that the guests were comfortable and well fed.

Owner Dave Walker welcomed us to Rhodes 'The Centre of the Universe' and both he and Marie gave us plenty of information about Rhodes.

We would definitely recommend Walkerbouts to anyone visiting Rhodes.

"Our night stay at Walkerbouts was very special in that, apart from the super welcome of David and the staff and the awesome dinner, we met a few of the local people, as well as some of the other guests, in the Walkerbouts pub. All very friendly and festive. Highly recommended."

"The staff were so friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. They even lent us a 4x4 for my husband to get to a good fishing spot!

The food was outstanding, very personalized, and made us feel at ease always.

Felt like family when we left!"

"The road to Rhodes from Barkley-East is not for the impatient; however the drive is so scenic and the little village of Rhodes so quaint, that it was worth the detour. We instantly fell in love with the area - such unspoilt beauty was an absolute surprise! The welcome we received at Walkerbouts was extremely warm and friendly - they were about to phone us to see if we got lost. Family room was very comfortably despite power cut( but that was Escom to blame). After a drink in the very jolly pub, their home cooked dinner was delicious, especially the pizzas. Breakfast was hearty and well-prepared. It was worth the journey to experience this little hidden gem!"
