The place itself is an unspoiled piece of heaven that guarantee's your country stay. The place is phenomenally beautiful! If it was not for work, we would have a stayed longer. It is said “When you leave a beautiful place, you carry it with you wherever you go.” And indeed this has to be one of our favorites stays. We could not believe that 2 weeks ago we drove passed Hawklee, during a visit in the Midlands, little did we know this beautiful piece of heaven would be our Anniversary Get-away! Best, best ever. We shall return!

"My husband and I went to Hawklee Country House in the Midlands for the long weekend (22-25 September 2006). I made the reservation as a birthday surprise for my husband as it was his birthday on the 24th of September.
We arrived late that Friday (20:30) evening. Although we did not book for dinner that evening, the owner Jeff, still asked us if we would like to have dinner. For us that was very kind of him, as it was already late.

Every morning we were greeted by our hostess with a warm smile, and invited to sit for breakfast. The breakfast always was tasteful and more than enough and the service was always very friendly and homely.

Our room was very comfortable, restfully decorated, and it was wonderful to look through the window and see the Lions River in front of us. The flowers(Azaleas) in the room and bathroom added to the special touch that we could feel around the whole place.

The gardens are Beautiful!!

We ate dinner at Hawklee on my husbands birthday, and this for us was a very special treat. Not only was the dinner outstanding and very tasteful, but my husband got a extra treat as well. He received a piece op chocolate cake with candles on top and they sang "happy birthday" to him. This was so very special!!
After that, Jeff came with 2 champagne glasses and open a bottle champagne for us to celebrate the birthday.

We really had a wonderful time at this very special place and would surely go back to experience the hospitality over and over again. These people are really doing such a great job here on earth, touching peoples lives in this way. Their warmth can be felt always as they ask how did you sleep or how was your day or where did you visit for the day.
We will surely visit Hawklee Country House again and again!!! Thank You!!!!!
