However, it was actually a much better option for us to stay in King Williams Town, which is only 1.5 hour from the festival. Daan put another bed in the Peacock cottage so that all the 5 of us could fit in. The electric blankets in the main bedroom were nice during the chilly night. And we were close to town, so that we could have dinner (although the cottage is self catering as well).

"Intaka Guest House was my first choice in King Williams Town. But the service I received from Daan and his team surpassed all my expectations. Daan offered to fetch me in town, which was appreciated even though I had a car (for which I enjoyed secure off street parking and a car wash the next morning!) I was very impressed with the large property and variety of rooms, and even though I had booked the smallest and cheapest, Daan offered me a larger en suite with a stoep (veranda) from which I was able to enjoy the moonrise, sunrise and a variety of birds. The room was well equipped with cooking facilities and a bathroom with a superb shower. My stay ended with a tranquil breakfast overlooking the garden and pool, and enjoying the deliciousness of superbly cooked bacon and eggs (thank you, Andiswa!) Thank you to Daan and staff for the warmest welcome and generosity King could offer. I have no doubt as to where I will stay when I next find myself in King Williams Town."
