"What an absolute gem... Kleinrivier is only a short drive from Port Elizabeth, and it doesn't disappoint. The calmness, and serenity is exactly what we needed, with the added bonus of amazing hiking trails to choose from, and the stunning hidden rock pool that awaits you in between the most glorious, scenic mountains that surround it. It was truly spectacular. We were even blessed with sightings of buck that came very close to our establishment, and an inquisitive little mongoose, and a Robin, who came to say hello every day. A nature lovers delight! "

"We stayed in Dassie 1 and it was PERFECT. We wanted for nothing. Piping hot shower with a view - birds checking you out through the sliding door! We sat around the fire in the fire pit and braaied and talked and checked out the stars until late. We so enjoyed a visit from a very brave robin who enjoyed our crumbs and the same from a little field mouse (I think - some type of mouse) who dashed out from the bushes to pick up a chip we'd dropped. We took a walk up a path and discovered Black Eagle Camp - cannot WAIT to come back with the kids and experience that - what an adventure!
We wish we had a week to spend here and will plan it for next time. Thank you - it was a perfect escape for some brain-dead, over-worked city dwellers and we are SO happy that you are so close to PE - see you again soon!"

"We spent two nights in one of the Dassiekrans chalets. It was a beautiful secluded setting and the chalet was lovely and modern. There are a number of great hiking trails - though we only tried one - and an awesome rock pool, filled by a spring, that is perfect for a dip on a hot summer's day.

As birders we were impressed by the array of forest species that we could spot from the balcony. We were even treated to some cracking views of a Knysna woodpecker!

Well worth a visit."
