"Heat - too much"

(South Africa) Francois Raath

"Everything was fine. Well equipped and very spacious.Only problem was there is not even a single fan with the heat wave we had. It was really uncomfortable. At the main farmhouse, some distance away, there is a swimming pool but you will have to drive there."

"Golden Oldie"

(South Africa) Reinette Roberts

"We where placed in the old farm house that is a 107 years old. The furniture all dated back to that era and our stay was pleasant and a unique experience. Friendly service. You have to travel by gravel road to get there and a bit pricy. They should at least include breakfast."

"Before we even got to the guest house, we received a call asking how our drive is going and if we would like dinner in the evening. When we arrived we had some car trouble and oom Ian and Elna tried their best to assist us where they could. The pure luxury of our farm house room, the stunning gardens and the friendly people just calmed us down. After one of the most amazing meals and a cup of tea and a bubble bath in a huge tub our car trouble was the last thing we worried about. It was a wonderful stay and I wish we could have stayed longer. My personal favourite thing about this stunning guest house was the secret garden and the service was out of this world.
All I can say is wow! I can’t wait to go back to Mieliesfontein.

"After a long drive through the rain and night, we found the small dirt road and came across a truly wonderful hidden treasure. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We got to our room which was big and spacious and very cosy with its old style floors and decoration. All the room facilities including the en-suite bathroom were top quality allowing for a very refreshing sleep. We woke to finally see the entire farm area and it’s never ending beauty and to top it off were then given a fully homemade delicious breakfast before we carried onwards with our journey.
A magnificent and hidden piece of true South African Karoo life.
Definitely will return again.

"The Owners contacted us 3 hours before arriving to ensure all will be ready to make our stay as pleasant as possible. On arrival we were greeted from our car and shown to our room. It was a marvelous big family room furnished superbly. A walk though the neat garden was enough to shake off the stress from the day's drive. That evening at the dinner table we met all the guests and wine and drinks were offered. The multi coarse meal was the best you could imagine - the variety of meat, vegetables and salads will not easily be beaten - fresh all from the farm. Three hours later we went back to our room to enjoy peaceful sleep in a quiet and safe environment. Definitely Mieliefontein deserves the highest compliment. A next visit is a must. "

"Farmhouse at Its Best!"

(South Africa) Mrs Peden

"We had a most enjoyable stay. Good food, good company and most of all a good nights’ rest. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the roaming lawns and a refreshing swim in the pool."
