"We were really impressed with the lodge. The surroundings and the facilities were all faultless. The staff were friendly and incredibly helfpul, helping us to plan our days activities. We felt thoroughly pampered throughout our stay. Dinner was well prepared and served in lovely surroundings starting with drinks in front of a roaring fire.

A really nice touch was on chilly evenings to find a hot water bottle warming the bed.

Cannot recommend it highly enough - and such good value. "

"The best stay we found on our Garden Route Trip. Wished to have booked more than just one night, to have a chance to get deeper into the Lily Pond mode. Ambiance, interior, kitchen, hosts - everything top class. We will come again - longer. "

"We spent two nights here to chill out after a hectic but enjoyable few days on safari. It was much better than our wildest dreams and the setting, accommodation, welcome and culinary delights were above the norm.

We would happily recommend Lily Pond to anyone."

"We have travelled a great deal all over the world - and stayed in many many hotels. A few poor ones, many okay ones, plenty of good ones, lots of very good ones, several excellent ones and very occasionally GREAT ones. Great hotels are very good or excellent hotels with a great deal of charm - and Lily Pond is awash with charm (as well as having lovely rooms, beautiful grounds, efficient and courteous staff, splendid wining and dining). It comes someplace in our top 5 for the sheer pleasure of being there - maybe even top 3!

It was delightful. We loved it. Can't think of a criticism - oh, yes, no After Shampoo Conditioner! We wish it were closer so we could come again soon, and will certainly recommend it with all our heart to anyone visiting the Western Cape."

"If you are a busy professional and are looking for some peace and quiet, not very far from home, affordable, with wonderful hosts, superb food and friendly but unobtrusive staff, then Lily Pond Cottage is just what you are looking for.

Nestled on the edge of the serene, indigenous Tsitsikamma forests, Lily Pond offers a tranquil retreat for even the most intrepid city slicker. It is the perfect synergy of modern Africa, infused with Mexican and Tuscan arcitectural influences, set on the banks of the most beautiful lily ponds. While away the day on beautiful wooden decks, watching the myriad bird species come and go. Sit back and unplug, or take a jaunt on the local meander to discover local trade including African art, raku pottery, mohair mills, wine farms, elephant, monkeys, exotic birds and snakes and of course there is a theatre!

Plet is just 20 minutes away if you can't resist a bit of a shop and Storms River adventures offer a superb selection for the more outdoor-oriented. We recommend the canopy tours which was truly awesome. The Storms river estuary is a twenty minute drive away and opens onto the most magnificent beach.

Lily Pond gets our thumbs up for modern luxury in the heart of nature. Ten out of ten to Niels and Margret for creating the perfect retreat. In one word, Lily Pond is fabulous!"
