When we were browsing through the available accommodation in Franschhoek, my wife, Ida, immediately recognised Centre-Ville as the house they lived in during her late primary and early high school years. Of course we made a reservation.

We appreciated Elsa's confirmatory phone call about a week before our intended stay. We informed her of Ida's connection to the house.

On arrival Ida was amazed at the way the house was transformed to function as a guest house. The dusty unused attic of yesteryear was transformed to four living units, one of which serves as a honeymoon suite, with a spa, private patio and a view on the surrounding mountains. We were shown how the rest of the house was renovated. All the rooms were in an immaculate condition.

Proper to its name Centre-Ville is really just one street block away from the Franschhoek main street and we could browse through all the small shops at leisure without worrying about parking for our car.

Jaco and Elsa Naudé are excellent hosts. We were heartily welcomed and briefed in such a way that we easily adapted to the house and its surroundings. The full breakfast was excellent and the service prompt, friendly and very efficient. We will only look for other accommodation in Franschhoek if Centre-Ville is fully booked."

Elsa and Jacob are a delightful couple, warm and hospitable with a fund of advice as to where to visit, eat etc - they even kindly made a restaurant booking for us. As they had several cancellations from overseas visitors (because of the Icelandic volcano drama which caused havoc with international flights), Elsa insisted on upgrading our room at no extra charge. We wish we had stayed longer at Centre-Ville and will definitely return. Can highly recommend this B&B.

"Central yet quiet with spacious rooms and well equipped bathrooms. The ground floor rooms were beautifully cool in temperatures of nearly 40C. Kind and very helpful hosts and staff, delicious breakfasts. Only drawbacks, a very small pool and hardly any garden. We will definitely return."

We rushed in the front door of Centre - Ville to check in and breathlessly asked if we could change somewhere. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful and let us into our room (which they were busy preparing) for a quick wardrobe change.

The only surprise was noticing that the spa bath and toilet were IN the room! Didn't matter so much to us, but may not suit others.

Centre-Ville is perfectly positioned in the village, close enough for walking while still being peacefully separate. Friendly staff and classically decorated rooms make it a pleasure to visit."
