(if however you like spas, room service and people to fuss over you, go elsewhere as we didn't see much staff presence the whole time we were in the guest house Didn't get to check out the restaurant so can't say anything about the food. Explore the surrounding wineries and go to Franschhoek for dinner. It's just 2 km away and offers great restaurants (often you need a reservation). Perfect place for couples and people who love hideaway places. We'll come back!"

The staff on duty were really great, supplying information on the surrounds and eateries. We had a good full breakfast, then a visit of this charming town.
We chose the Rickety Bridge of luncheon, great wine and food.
Next visit to this area will be to Basse Provence Guest House. We can only but recommend this stay.

The smiling staff were genuinely interested in our day and we appreciated the quiet work of the gardeners maintaing the glorious flowerbeds and the night watchman ensuring security.
The recent change of ownership has been smoothly effected and the staff were all happy with the new management. It remains a vey special place. We would gladly return!!"

There was an outside area, however, at the time of our visit, there seemed to be a plague of small flying insects which forced us to go inside and we felt we would disturb the other guests if we chose to do that after 22h00. Also, we were disappointed the manager did not advise us she was leaving the premises late afternoon and we would have a security guard and dog. She needed to advise us when we arrived who else was at the Guesthouse and who would be "coming and going" during the evening. Otherwise, the bed was clean and comfortable as was both our rooms."
