After a busy year, we spent some relaxing days on the guest farm in December 2010. We were warmly welcomed by Ortrud and Peter and enjoyed our conversations with both very much. Their tips for exploring the surrounding area we received from them were valuable to us. So when we decided to actually go away, except the feeling of feeling guilty about leaving our two little girls behind with grandma, we thought for two hundred rand a night per person is going to be a regrettable experience. Well, after I made the booking and paid the money in, surprising VERY VERY SIMPLE AND FAST, we started packing. It was all short notice so we hurriedly packed and got on our way. We found the place relatively easy. Ortrud was waiting up for us as we only arrived about nine the first evening. She opened the gate and door to the little place we had booked and firstly I was surprised. The place looked great and had a homely feeling. There was just about everything there that we had forgotten to pack in the rush. There was even mosquito coils, doom, hand wash - very important, there was everything we needed, A HOME AWAY FROM HOME. The shower was great as it had a place to put your toiletries down instead of the floor and you slip and slide to try and retrieve it, none of that. We got to bed early, the bed was comfortable. The next morning, had a shower, got dressed and we going out for the day. The other best thing was a brochures in the room with ALL the information a tourist would need and would understand. There was information about places of interests, places where you could swim, fish, every single activity - outdoor activity you could think of. It was great and not many accommodation places that I have been to have I ever seen it. We packed for the day and were about to leave Ortrud was busy in her vegetable garden, she greeted us and asked how we were and slept. Before we left we climbed onto a viewing tower and looked at all the surroundings, so beautiful so peaceful. We left and started sight-seeing which actually turned into a disaster as all places needed prior booking or don't take day visitors. We decided to return to the guest house because at least that was something we could look forward to. We bought stuff to have a braai and we played pool and darts something which me and my fiancé' in five nearly six years together have never done together, we had a swim and actually it felt really good to spend time together like that which we never have the chance to do. We both realised how good we are at playing those games. We had a fantastic braai and we had everything we needed to have a braai. All the crockery and cutlery, everything was there. Peter also was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.

It was definitely toooo short and I will definitely go back at anytime.

The actual facilities provided for the guests was great and they also have a fantastic kids corner, which we were very impressed with as we have two small children and we now know that when we come stay again that the kids will really enjoy it.
We ordered breakfast for both mornings, which was also great more than we could have asked for and Ortrud makes the most delicious homemade rum cake and apple tart.

I would recommend Ithabiseng to all my friends and the prices are very reasonable, they are also situated close by to Bela- Belas town and lots of tourist attractions.

In true African style the rooms are very upmarket and cater for everything. I am astonished that such places actually do exist where you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to live in comfort.
