"We were only there for 1 night, but will definitely return for a longer stay next time.
Altavia and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and really help make the whole experience a memorable one.

"Until recently I had not heard of Jacobs Bay. I thought I 'discovered' it using Safari Now and thought I would visit, I needed a cheap isn place to stay and was delighted to discover a Backpackers. For R200 I got a room with a bed to sleep in. The road to Jacobs BAy is tarred and in good condition. The Backpackers is on the main road just before the village. The facility is surrounded the an electric fence so I felt safe. The facility has all the things one would expect at a backpackers and was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Jacobs Bay is lovely. It has a small bay with a good restaurant and some pristine larger beaches. There is a cafe literally next door selling various things including hot meals. The sunsets are to die for and you can see all the stars. The early morning mists give a surreal edge to the village. Would recommend the backpackers as an inexpensive way to stay, if you don't need luxuries of life."

It was perfect for my solo get-away.The communal kitchen was spotless and more 'fully equipped' than any self-catering cottage that I have previously stayed in. The ablutions clean with lovely hot showers.If you are looking for a relaxing few days away (or longer), by yourself or in a group, just throw a few clothes and books into a bag, buy your groceries on route and go to Jacobs Bay backpackers.
