The kids had an awesome time riding their bikes through the vineyards, swimming in the beautiful pool and just relaxing on the hammocks. The absence of television is a real plus, it provides for much needed quality time with one another.

Thank u Lindi and Stephan

I'm feeling fully recharged for the new year!!

"We really enjoyed our two nights at Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve. We were in Fig Cottage, and although the furnishings are quite basic, it has everything you need, from a ceiling fan to a crate of firewood.

It's a beautiful reserve with a lovely dam for swimming and paddling, and various scenic walks and hikes. We spotted a couple of big tortoises munching in the grass, loads of birds (including an inquisitive owl)and fallow deer that visited near our cottage at night.

There are various highly rated restaurants nearby, a lovely couple who sell home-distilled lavender products from their farm just a few minutes down the road, and, of course, some of South Africa' best wineries nearby.

We would definitely recommend Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve for a slow winelands weekend, or for a longer stay to enjoy the natural beauty of the area."

"Two nights at Pat Busch was all we needed to end off a relaxing honeymoon. The secluded valley provided us with sublime views while we enjoyed our reading material, comfortably tucked inside our patio hammocks. I'm rather sad we didn't attempt a hike, but we did however get plenty time in the dam. The provision of boats was much appreciated.

The keen fisherman inside me was delighted to find the dam stocked with bass and it wasn't long before I was casting my line into the water. A delightful book on South African freshwater fishing was generously supplied among others in our chalet; a much-appreciated addition.

The hospitality, accommodation quality and location comes together to make Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve a high recommendation."

"Too divine! "

"Was our most favourite getaway in Roberston. Loved the seclusion of the unit and the quiet ambience. Comfortable unit, the down duvet beds and spa bath were heavenly. Would've loved to have stayed longer."

"Oh my Gosh- Peaceful Bliss!! Definitely Heaven on earth. My husband and I went along with our 2 little ones- 2years and 4 years old- my first words to my Mom when we called to say that we arrived Safely was 'we brought the wrong children with- not even the birds make a noise here!'. 6 weeks ago, we suffered a miscarriage- and desperately needed a change of scenery. i am 97% sure that this past weekend- while relaxing, i started feeling all most of those pregnancy symptoms again. Watch this space for details!Everything about your home is beautiful, clean, fresh- We were so sad as we turned back to look over everything one last time- and then all said 'Goodbye holiday'- the kids anticipated this holiday for the past 3 weeks. And hubby and i wondered if they actually knew what a 'holiday' meant. It was our first family holiday. When we arrived- the boys were so excited- we got out of our microbus, entered the house and said 'ta da'- the boys looked at us as if to say 'ta-da what?'. We said 'this is our holiday'- and my two year old boy said- 'this is a house not a holiday'- LOL. Needless to say- 1 minute later they were marvelling over everything- especially their double bed- and the spa bath- and the hammock. They were running wild- and we kept having to tell them 'Shhhh'...A special thanks for having no TV- it meant that hubby and the boys could really get down to some quality time- We made a little memoir- with a plaster cast of the boys hand prints and our thumb prints- and that will go alongside our scrap book edition of 'our first family holiday'. also, thank you very very much for the milk we found in the fridge- i packed in every single thing you can think of- even handy-andy- but forgot to get milk. and when we got there- all we wanted was a cuppa hot chocolate as we sat on the bench on the 'porch' and took in all of God's wonderful work. We loved our stay at the reserve and will definitely be back again very soon- who knows, next time it might be 2 adults and 3 children- God Bless you all."

"We had a most pleasant stay at the Hadeda Cottage at Pat Busch Nature Reserve over the Easter Weekend. We found it very comfortable and the view from the cottage was spectacular.

We enjoyed the walks around the area and the sounds of the birds waking us in the morning.

As a self catering unit it was more than sufficiently kitted out. (Maybe a pen to fill in visitor’s book should be supplied?) We found the welcome pleasant and unintrusive.

We would definitely like to come back some time and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet getaway.

"Our stay at the Nightjar and Hadeda cottages at the Pat Busch Nature Reserve was lovely. The view from both the cottages are beautiful, the walks/hikes take you through some of the most beautiful scenery and vegetation. The cottages themselves are very comfortable and clean. "

"This was an excellent, peaceful, spacious place with absolutely smashing views across the vines in the valley to the mountains with many walks as well as a reserve visit that we unfortunately did not have time for.

Just by lazing in the hammocks on the verandah in the evening of arrival and before breakfast, the birds were coming thick and fast past the cottages. The spacious, farmhouse accommodation was excellent as was the braai facilties which we did not have time to use. The Indian Head massage and the dam swimming and walk was much appreciated by our friends.

Would certainly return for a longer visit to do more birdwatching in luxury."
