She told me I only had another 40 minutes of driving to do - which made the journey seem less awsome. It was easy to find - well marked with an electric sign at the gate - instead of having to peer out for the numbers. The gardens were heavenly and the rooms exceedingly well appointed. Penryn well deserved its 4 stars. The service personel were friendly and kind too. I will certainly be staying here the next time I visit SA."

"It's true that Penryn has a beautiful garden but it is a beautiful house too. Jean is a friendly and welcoming hostess, breakfasts are good and plentiful and the rooms are very well equipped - even down to towelling robes and slippers. Plus it was the only place we stayed which had a well lit dressing table - I'm sure many ladies will understand the significance of that! Penryn is in an excellent location for the battlefields and it was wonderful to relax on the garden terrace after a long and hot day's tour. Penryn is a great place to stay and we wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks so much, Jean."

"We arrived late and frazzled due to traffic problems to be welcomed warmly by Jean to our beautiful immaculate room with modern bath, large windows, and down comforter. After a great shower and settled into Penryn's fluffy bathrobes with hot tea, we again felt like ourselves. Breakfast was tasty and served among Victorian antiques and flowered pillow furniture. The grounds are gorgeous with flowering trees, blooming plants, and English pathways. I wanted to take Jean and her lovely B&B with me throughout the rest of our holiday."

We loved our room, high ceilings and spacious and with its own entrance from what seemed our own little garden, complete with a terrace with wrought iron furniture. Good bathroom with an enormous shower. Beautiful decor and very clean.
We were able to walk to the centre of Penryn town within 5/10 minutes and always felt safe, even after dark. Handy stopover for touring the Battlefields sites. Visit to Talana is a must. Would recommend and would certainly use again if ever that way again.
