"It is amazing to find a place like the Royal Hotel in the depths of the mighty Karoo. We had a beautiful clean room and great food at the hotel restaurant. The staff were also very friendly. I look forward to staying at the Royal again. "

"We arrived during the afternoon and went to book in. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. A staff member was delegated to show us where our room was. The room was basic but, nicely furnished and clean. It was in the annex next to the pool and secure off road parking. When I discovered that I had locked the room keys in the room, one of the staff, with a smile immediately helped us. The staff answers all our questions about the town and area, and we felt at home. We would stay there again if we are in the area."

"Nice Place"

(South Africa) Wessel

"The place was clean, the food is affordable, I was happy with everything and I really enjoyed it."

"Very clean and neat accommodation. Service from the chef was excellent, one member of our party is gluten intolerant and we were accommodated with all our meals."

"We so enjoyed our second stay at The Royal Hotel Steytlerville. It is the epitome of a Karoo Hotel in the best David Kramer style. The stoep is one of its many delights as you can just "chill" and watch the world and his wife go by. We were very amused at who pitched up and in what transport at the garage opposite.
Have stayed in winter and summer and both were equally charming. The hostess was a lovely, energetic lady who was perfect for the job; the food was Karoo in the best possible way. (My husband had the lamb chops two nights in a row) It was peaceful and yet the hotel was practically full. We loved the stoep around the perimeter of the rooms in the inner courtyard and the beckoning swimming pool in these peaceful surroundings.
It very much reminded us of our delightful childhood holidays spent with family in those lovely old unspoilt hostelries that South Africa specialised in during the 1960's and yet which today are hard to find. Keep doing what you do so well Royal Hotel.
Regards until next time

The room was very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. There was also safe off street parking for the car. We had the lamb stew for dinner which was well priced and delicious. The breakfast served in morning was plenty and tasty. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. Well Done!"
