The Trailhouse is down to earth and close to nature. Tucked away at the foot of the Kogelberg Mountains overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Rod's Hiking Trail starts 50m from the house and takes you through the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, home to one of the planet's most complex bio diversities and a World Heritage Site, to the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens. Within walking distance of the village center and the main beach, it is a perfect blend of two worlds.
The Studio is a fully self-catering, detached, open-plan unit. It is upstairs with both sea and mountain views and a gasbraai for the front deck.
The Trailhouse is on ground level and has three en-suite bedrooms, with a sea or mountain view. A dining room with a fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery and crockery, also has an indoor fireplace. There are outdoor braai areas in the garden.
Activities and attractions in and around Betty's Bay abound as far as the eye can see and your time, energy and sense of adventure allows. A hiker's paradise with a host of marine, wildlife, bird and plant species are a few reasons why the area attracts nature lovers of all ages and caters for every mood. Wine estates, markets and farm stalls par excellence, world class golfing, nature reserves and unspoiled beaches as well as Zipline and rafting adventures are all in the vicinity. The African Penguin Colony, Sugar birds and The Cape Rock jumper as well as seasonal Whales, porcupines and baboons are among some of the local residents.

"We found Betty's Bay easily coming from Cape Town airport (very tired) and felt real welcome and at ease in the Trail House. We slept nice & long and then made our first walk in SA. Beautiful birds, plants and flowers. Also a great beach. Fransel told us a lot of interesting things about the surroundings, SA in general and the Afrikaans language. We drove on the next day, but saw that the Kogelberg behind the Trail House is also a beautiful scene for hikes. Surely recommendable."
