The host was fantastic, made it feel like you were being welcomed home by Dad, even walked you to your car chatting away like long time family. As soon as we arrived it was obvious that this village was an ideal start to our tour of the Drakensberg and offered us the opportunity to relax for a couple of days and get recover from the flight before resuming our travels.
Rosewood Corner offered the ideal welcome with its well tended garden and secluded spot yet only a very short walk was the village centre. We were given an annex room which was clean and spacious giving us all the facilities we required.
Following a good night's sleep we shared our breakfast table with four other guests and the proprietor.
This was an informal affair with a very relaxed atmosphere and gave us the opportunity to enquire about the local area and recommended visits.
On leaving Clarens we ventured into the Drakensberg to return at the end of our holiday. We called in at Rosewood Corner on the off chance of finding accommodation for a further night before returning to England but unfortunately there was no room at the inn!
We hope to return to South Africa and would not hesitate to stay at Rosewood Corner and the delightful village of Clarens again."
