"Lovely and spacious"

"We had a lovely large room for the weekend, clean and had all the basic requirements. Ample parking. We had booked self catering and this was fine for us. Went into town for meals as nothing offered on site. "

"The afternoon and night that we spent at Hanepoort Huisies was a wonderful experience. The location of this guest house is out of this world. It is scenic, peaceful and interesting. Ferdi, the man who owns and runs the farm, spent a lot of time with my wife and I explaining the workings of the farm and the wine making process - it was fascinating.
The room we stayed in is a converted silo, high up so that we had a beautiful panoramic view of the vineyards and the mountain.
All in all, it was a magnificent experience."

Almien also made us feel at home."

"Stunning"

"We had a stunning time in the surrounds of the vineyard. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for our self-catering experience. The gardens and the pool certainly gave us the extra bit of spoiling. We had a great time of relaxation. We will be going back again. "

"We recently spent 3 nights at Hanepoot Huisies and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The owner was welcoming and friendly but not intrusive. We will definitely stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending Hanepoot Huisies."

"Thank you for an awesome stay at Hanepoot Huisies. Not only was our cottage very comfortable with everything we needed from cutlery to towels, linen and air con in the heat as well as (a requirement for us city folk ) DSTV, but it was so cute and adorably decorated. I loved the 'old fashioned' ball-and-claw furniture - very appropriate for a 90 year old cottage. The farm is beautiful with vineyards and orchards surrounding the main buildings, very clean and very peaceful. This is definitely a very professional- run establishment. We ate grapes directly from the vines, peaches from the trees, swam and enjoyed with lots of birdsong and were enchanted by the owls. We tasted wine and was educated by the winemaker himself on different wines, the making thereof, etc, as well as a very interesting and educational tour of his beautiful cellars- a total treat for us . And all this before we left for the day to explore the town. This was really value for money. Thank you."

"Our stay at Hanepoot huisies was beyond my expectation, it is truly exotic although it still gives you that home from home feeling. The reception was great and even the helpers were friendly. We got there when it was dark and couldn’t see the surroundings but the morning when I stepped out I had to thank the Lord for his greatness; the mountains and beautiful surroundings was really to be thanked for. Hanepoot huisies are well equipped with all what you need, I will suggest it to all my friends and family."

"Are you lured by lush valleys with vineyards and orchards, tranquil streams, rugged mountains, old-world hospitality coupled with modern comfort at a reasonable rate? Strongly consider a visit to the farm, Wederom, in the Robertson district in the Western Cape (about 160km from Cape Town). We spent a long weekend in one of two new rooms on the farm in the renovated silos (cylindrical storage spaces for grain). These twin silos are three stories high and now contain two sets of en suite rooms, living rooms, kitchenettes, and balconies – the ‘ground level’ is turned into two toilets for visitors to the boutique cellar. A beautiful wooden staircase complements the wooden stable doors, window frames, and balconies. The interior is an interesting mix of modern and antique, wood, cement, pouter, leather, aluminium, porcelain, and glass, reflected in the art objects, furniture, fireplace, bedpost, clothes stand and lighting. The electrical appliances (kettle, television, microwave, toaster, fan, bar fridge, hair dryer, and alarm clock) as well as the bedding and towels are all high quality products. These rooms easily accommodate two people and one never gets the feeling that there is too little space to move around. The water flow in the taps is strong and the warm water is hot. The shower and toilet section is spacious, and the basin closet and bed stands have more than enough space for one’s weekend belongings. Although there is no air-conditioning system, the fan in the bedroom supplies adequate cool air during the night. The rooms are serviced daily. The lawns and gardens are well kept and there is a pool and braai facilities. The balcony was a highlight – the sunset and sunrise views and the visits by the barn owls. This is an ideal stay when one also plans to explore the hidden wine secrets, the peoples’ stories, the town’s history, and the other activities on offer in the region."
