We booked the Mountain cottage that has a private little natural water pool and all the privacy in the world. The stars at night are just as breathtaking.

We had a hot day and night as well as a thunder storm the following afternoon and night so the hot tub we rented extra was a welcome addition to our stay.

Tatiana, Lillian and Robin are so warm and welcoming.
The cottage has all the amenities and is not affected by load shedding. They even have a honesty bar by the main house, with a pool table, ping pong table and darts board.

So happy we found this place"

We weren't prepared for the low temperature drop at night and there's always a breeze during the day, our stay was in beginning of Spring so maybe it gets warmer towards Summer time but gas heaters and extra blankets were supplied for the weather. Altogether it was worth our money and the rates per night are reasonable.

We stayed in the windmill cottage, a very cozy option if you are looking for the camping experience without the tents! The cabin was fully equipped with everything we needed. The beds were SO comfy and perfect to snuggle in and read a book!
There was nothing like waking up early and watching the BEST sunrise and the moon felt so huge and close to where we were.
Watching the moon rise over while relaxing in the awesome hot tub was out of this world.
For a city girl, Porcupine Peak was exactly what I needed to completely wind down, I have not felt that relaxed in a long time!

My teenage boys were kept busy with fishing, hiking and helping out in the field with pumpkin picking! There is also a wonderful spot to play pool and table tennis. They had a blast.

We cannot wait to visit porcupine peak again! Definitely one of our new favourites <3"

We were booked into the River Cottage. A lovely little house with a wrap around deck and beautiful views of the valley. Silent and snug and good for the soul. I wish we could've stayed longer. Pack warm clothes and pajamas if you're going in winter.

It depends, of course, what you are looking for, but if you are wanting a quiet retreat from the jangle of life, this cozy stone cottage with built-in calmness is the place to go. Simplicity and design efficiency perfectly combine with rustic elegance, with arguably the most wonderful feature being the stone porch, comfy chairs in place, with an uninterrupted sight line over the early Karroo hills and distant orchards to the Langeberg; not too far from the farm and the friendly, welcoming hosts, yet discrete and private. Reading a book on the porch with occasional dips in the private, natural pool just metres away, binoculars on hand to quietly eavesdrop on the plentiful bird life: what more could one want on a sultry early summer day. We did manage to tear ourselves away for a gentle walk up the hill behind the cottage in the late afternoon, returning in time to get the fire going for supper and to appreciate every minute of the gradually setting sun. The tranquility of the area really allows you to relax in a wonderful feeling of remoteness. The views are breathtaking and the trip to Montagu should you need supplies is short and worth it.

10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful time away where you can escape into your own world on the side of a beautiful mountain.

I only had to unpacked our clothes, as I did not needed to unpack blitz for the fire even matches to start the fire.

The cabin was well-stocked with everything you'd need. Woke up every morning to the sun rising over the mountains, birds bathing in the pond outside, and slowly eased ourselves out of bed or off of the porch cushions to make a comfortable breakfast or lunch. The braai was perfect for evening meals. We especially enjoyed spending sundowners with a glass of wine and a dip in the wood-fired hot tub.

Robin and Tatiana were very accommodating and friendly. There was no rush for us to leave on the day of our check-out; in fact they encouraged us to spend the entire day hanging out before facing a long drive back to Cape Town. "
