The cottage is just beautiful, the beds are very comfortable with electric blankets, wall heaters in each room, but the best surprise was the dish washing machine and the washing machine in the cottage.

What you get: Space. the rooms are huge, and extremely well furnished in impeccable style. Everything you even think you might need is there, just bring food.
Then you look outside and there is the view. I could happily just forget about the rest of the Meander and just sit there and drink in that view. I feel sorry for people who live there. Where can they possibly go for a holiday?

The Midlands meander is likely to become an annual event for my family. We see no reason to look further than Notts Cottage for our accommodation."

My husband and I had booked into Notts Cottage for the night of the 29th October 2016 as we had a wedding to attend. I thought to myself well as long as the place is clean it doesn't matter if it’s not great we will only be there a few hours to sleep and then leave. Well I couldn't have been more wrong with my thoughts.
The booking was done a few months back and was a very easy and pleasant experience.
Ivan from Notts Cottage -said we may arrive early so that we could change for the wedding.
On arriving at Notts Cottage we all said this looks very nice - an understatement. We were absolutely flawed with delight when we walked in with our overnight luggage and saw our accommodation - it was SAFE - SECURE -.
CLEAN - NEAT - BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED - with lovely fresh sheets and towels - tea - coffee - biscuits and a bonus of magnificent surroundings.
Oh did we WISH we had booked in for a week - we were all very happy to arrive home after a super wedding to this amazing accommodation where we felt safe and could have a hot bath and a cup of coffee.
We all slept unbelievably well and left dragging our feet out of our chalet the next morning as none of us wanted to leave this lovely place.
I am so impressed that my husband I will definitely be back even if just to have a night out - plus I will be taking my mum for a trip to the Midlands and staying at NOTTS COTTAGE.

I found the cottage absolutely amazing, way beyond my expectations. The delightful warm colour co-ordinations of reds, browns, turquoise and white with exotically comfortable beds made for a feeling of being "at home".
Having access to a washing machine and dishwasher as well as the luxury of heaters and heated towel rails made our stay a total pleasure. Mention has to be made regarding the wonderful hospitality and fine attention to detail offered by our hosts. The luxury of electric blankets and soft, cosy duvets on all the beds, the matching decor throughout the cottage, the extra blankets left on the couches to cuddly up in while watching full DSTV are but a few thoughts to mention. Finding tea, coffee, a full sugar bowl, milk and rusks as well as a decanter of sherry on our arrival just added to the fact that our hosts really and truly cared.
The peace and quiet of the location, the beautiful view of the Drakensberg and surrounds, the tranquillity and gentle sounds of nature made for 4 of the most remarkable days I have had the pleasure of spending in many, many years.

"We were greeted by Ivan and his charming wife, Avril who were very happy to assist with unloading our vehicle from our lock-up garage after showing us around the 2 bed roomed unit and offering us a glass of cherry on the house. We were all taken-a-back at how beautifully the place was decorated - the amazing huge brown leather lounge suite, and the huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall and another in the 2nd bedroom. We were escorted to the bedrooms both with huge queen / king sized beds with lovely pillows and a throw draped across the bottom of the beds. The main bedroom in relaxing teal with its comfy white leather recliner chair and loads of cupboards and a lovely dressing table built into the unit with loads of light to do my make-up. The on-suite was big enough for a party with a huge triangle bath in the corner and a show with a built in seat. The second bedroom was just as amazing, all decorated in rustic browns and orange African print, queen size bed with loads of comfy pillows and the on-suite shower also big enough for 2, with ethnic embroidered towels. The kitchen was kitted out to perfection, with black granite tops with all the equipment we needed. Sitting outside on the patio looking out into the hills and green fields watching the birds was so tranquil - away from the rat race.

All in all an amazing luxury getaway to enjoy a relaxing weekend with wonderful hosts. I will definitely recommend this location to all our friends.
