"We spent three nights at Cheviot Place Guest House, and from the time we booked, James was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and places to see while in Cape Town. Our room had great views over Table Bay and Greenpoint and was comfortable, although the alcove where the tea and coffee were was rather small and cramped. Breakfast was prepared by James to order and very generous, and James was a very attentive and helpful host. The location is good for exploring the V&A and not too far from the sightseeing bus routes. We would certainly consider returning there for future visits."

Needless to say, Cheviot Place is now our favourite guesthouse and we shall make it our regular place whenever in Cape Town. Thanks James and Co."

"Arriving from the airport in a hire car at midnight by GPS, we were greeted and made welcome at this late hour. Next morning after breakfast, James, very kindly gave us a tourist talk of what to do and what is safe in the city and dropped us off in his car at the city centre bus tour stop. He was fantastic at sorting out our days so that we got the most out of our stay, even providing us with a GPS speaking guide of the Cape for our drive around the Cape. He booked us into local restaurants after understanding our needs, and ordered the taxis to get us there. He directed us to the best wine tastings in the Cape. How helpful!
The accommodation is without fault - we had a lovely view of the bay from our balcony. Everything is as it should be. If you want a home from home and personal advice and help about the city, this is the place to stay.

We would without hesitation stay here again should we return to Cape Town.

"My husband and I stayed at Cheviot Place from Sept 26 - 28 and again on Oct 4. It was our last night in Cape Town before flying home, and we had originally made other plans, but decided to change them to have one more night at Cheviot Place. It was a wonderful experience. The house itself is spectacular, over 100 years old, soothingly decorated, and our room (the Garden Room) was immaculate and extremely welcoming.

The location is centrally located in Green Point with a very nice view over the World Cup stadium. But it was our host, James Irving that made our stay so special. His warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness were outstanding. He was our host when we arrived and our friend when we left. The breakfasts were delicious too! I would highly recommended Cheviot Place to anyone travelling in Cape Town, and I would stay there again in a flash. Thanks James for such a wonderful time!"

"Cape Town ....the Return"

(United Kingdom) Mr Duffy

"We returned for the second time to finish the parts of Cape Town as we did not manage last year. Once again we found Cheviot Place clean, welcoming and informative.
We would definitely recommend to our friends.

"From the moment we arrived at Cheviot Place Guest House James made us feel at home. It was clean and comfortable and the personal service was top notch.
Help with local restaurants and advice on taxis etc resulted in us eating with the locals rather than the tourists and we would not change a thing (we even made friends with the neighbours across the road and will keep in touch).

Many thanks James, we will tell our friends.
