About 50km south of Kroonstad and 150km north of Bloemfontein, on the N1, is the little town of Ventersburg. It has approximately 40000 inhabitants. Afrikaans and Sesotho are the dominant languages.

Third Rock Guesthouse is a distinctive dwelling, dating back to the AngloBoer war, and is situated in the heart of Ventersburg on an acre of land. We have a fully furnished house which can accommodate up to 6 people.
There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed. The very spacious second room has two 3/4 beds. The unit also has a sleeper couch which can accommodate an additional two people. We also have 2 fully furnished guest rooms available.

There are farm style Bomas for braaiing or social get-togethers. These are constructed in a manner that encourages cohesiveness and team spirit. Ideal for company or any group functions.

We have constructed an archetypical labyrinth similar to the one at Chartre Cathedral in France. Come and lose yourself in the mystery of our labyrinth. It was constructed using succulent “woestyn rosies”. Our garden boasts a variety of roses and other indigenous plants, shrubs and trees. We also have various ‘Sacred Geometric’ forms integrated in our garden, eg. the flower of life.

Within walking distance of our guesthouse are the following;
* The Police Museum (the only fully preserved police station in the country which dates back to the Anlo-Boer War).
* Various Iron Age sites of significant archaeological importance.
* Skanskraal - a historical shelter which was built by the boers and the basotho people.
* The historical Dutch Reformed Church cannot be missed in the centre of Town.
* About 20 km from us is the Aldam/Willem Pretorius Reserve and Resort. The location of the historical Sand River Convention is also nearby.

"What stunning hosts Keith and Heide are, they were available to do anything to make our stay comfortable and memorable. we were one day late for our booked date Keith had no issues to accommodate us on Friday instead of Thursday as booked, wow!! the guest house was spotless, linen perfect and the house was very cosy and comfortable, Our dogs were welcomed and i have yet to see our dogs settle down in a new place so quickly, they felt the welcome vibe. thanks guys, you are the greatest."
