"We initially booked into a B&B in Colesberg but as we were nearing our destination for the day were decided to rather push on to Beaufort West. After a a phone call to Lucy at Safari and a couple of mails we found this accommodation. Not only were they pet friendly but our Rottweiler, Staffie and Sausage dog were all welcome to stay in our lovely room in the main house with us. The hospitality was amazing. Our suite was extremely comfortable and spotless. Lovely buffet for dinner. Unfortunately we left to early to experience breakfast. We will make this our stop over whenever we travel JHB to CT."

"The accommodation and facilities were most pleasant and the meals provided of a high standard. The one small complaint that I would have is that the water to the shower was very difficult to regulate going intermittently from ice cold to scalding hot."

Driving to the bay via gardens was very refreshing seeing all the greenery after not seeing green since our departure from Cape Town. We were shown to our room and wasn't it spacious! The bed was firm with soft comfortable cushions. The TV had plenty of channels and was of good quality. The bathroom was massive, almost the same size of the room itself. Shower was nice and refreshing. At night we took a walk through the gardens and spotted some tortoises roaming around, was idyllic with a nice cool breeze. We had a very nice rest ready for our long journey the next day. Was the perfect stop-over especially in the Beaufort west heat!"

"After an exhausting drive from Johannesburg, Matoppo Inn was such a refreshing and welcome relief. Check in was quick and efficient, the welcome was so warm. We stayed in the Antique room, which I had some concerns about - but what a lovely surprise. Room is clean and huge, antique style furniture but definitely not old - the fittings and furnishings are very high quality. Beds are comfortable. Rooms have aircon which is a must in the summer. There is a lovely landscaped garden to unwind in and play equipment for kids. Room service and a coffee shop are also really good features as after a long drive, a nice cup of tea was in order.
Staff are super obliging and stored my two cooler bags overnight in their freezer with no hassle. We didn't have breakfast or dinner there but the food smells amazing.
I will definitely stay again.
